As President of the North Grenville Arts Guild, Julie is passionate about fostering a welcoming and supportive creative community for artists of all levels. She and Cheryl work closely with fellow members and community partners to bring the arts into the heart of the community while helping to elevate the Guild’s events, outreach, and online presence. Through collaboration, inclusivity, and a love of the arts, she is committed to creating opportunities for artists to connect, grow, and share their work with a wider audience.
Julie Mercier is a self-taught acrylic artist based in rural Spencerville, Ontario. With a background in graphic design, web development, and UI design, Julie has spent her career immersed in visual creativity. Since 2018, painting has been her full-time passion, allowing her to explore bold colour, expressive form, and the emotional connection between artist and viewer.
She holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Commercial Art diploma and continues to grow her skills through in-person classes, workshops, and online programs. Her work—often featuring people and animals in a vibrant, painterly style—appears in juried exhibitions, local shows, and private collections across Canada, Germany, and the U.S.
Living on a small hobby farm with her husband, two horses, and her dog Missie, Julie draws daily inspiration from rural life.
